TwimGo with “Read Later” support (N900/N9/N950)
by Brazza on May.15, 2012, under N900
TwimGo is an open source Twitter client for Symbian and MeeGo devices written entirely in Qt Quick. The app provides both the basic functionality you’d expect, including home screen, mentions, favourites, timelines, search, lists, trends, along with more advanced functionality like searching for mentioned hashtags and opening tweet detail. The project moderation team think this is one of the best twitter clients available on Symbian.
We recommend you try this app – you can download it from the project summary page or from Nokia Store.
It also rewarded the first Featured Project of the Month (@nokia)

by Brazza on Feb.22, 2012, under Android, Linux, N900, Software
Meet ‘Ubuntu for Android’ – a side-by-side pairing of the Android and Ubuntu OSes on a single phone, the latest part of Canonical’s ‘multi-device’ future for Ubuntu.
Designed to coexist with Android on users’ multicore smartphones, the new version of Ubuntu is designed to launch the full Ubuntu desktop when the phone is docked with a keyboard and monitor. The rest of the time, the phone runs Android as usual.
All data and services are shared between the Ubuntu and Android environments, so Android data and applications such as contacts, telephony, and SMS/MMS messaging are accessible from the Ubuntu interface.
The desktop is the killer app for quad-core phones in 2012,” said Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth in the Canonical announcement. “Ubuntu for Android transforms your high-end phone into your productive desktop, whenever you need it.”

by Brazza on Aug.13, 2011, under N900
According to a e-mail send by the CEO of Nokia, providers are more interested in the Windows Mobile phones. He doesn’t said those exact words, but there must be something going on. Since the N900 was kinda a succes with Maemo on it.
Right now, many of the larger operators are showing a strong preference towards WP…

MeeGo on the N900 officially targeted by Nokia
by Brazza on Mar.05, 2011, under N900
YIEEEHAAAA! For all the N900 users this is GREAT news. While some departments of the Nokia brand, have discarded the n900 in updates, now the olympic flame is carried by MeeGo (in my opinion). So for all us developers and test users, we have some work to be done. I really like the n900 comparing to most of the alternatives (iPhone, Nexus and etc.) but the N900 has the ‘freedom’ to install other OS like MeeGo, Linux-based distributions and Android. While the rest of the world sits on their ass and just buy new phones, we make this versatile N900 maximize it’s potention!
Since the new updates from the Maemo Community the SSU update for the N900. I’m thrilled i even have this phone. Hell it’s even an honor i made the right choice to buy one!
